This Privacy Policy describes how Stokl handles information in the mobile application (“App”) and on the website (stokl.app).
1. Information We Collect
In the App: we do not collect, store, transmit, or process personal data for user accounts or the pantry items you enter. The App does not require user accounts, and no personal information is requested in the App for basic use.
In-app purchases (Stokl Pro): if you buy the one-time Pro upgrade, payment is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment card number or bank details. Apple may provide us with limited, non-personal purchase information (such as whether a transaction completed) only as needed to unlock Pro on your device. Whether you have Pro is stored on your device (and validated through Apple’s systems when you use Restore Purchases). For how Apple handles purchase data, see Apple’s Privacy Policy.
On the website: if you contact us through the Help page (“Contact us”) form at Help, we collect the name, email address, and message you provide. We use this information only to read your request and respond to you. Your message is typically delivered to our support inbox (hello.stokl@gmail.com) using a transactional email provider (for example, Resend).
Links on the website to the Apple App Store (for example, the “GET” button) take you to Apple’s services. We do not receive personal data from Apple solely because you follow such a link.
2. Local Data Storage
All data entered into the App (such as food items, quantities, and expiration information) is stored locally on your device only.
Your free or Pro usage limits and Pro unlock status are also handled on your device and through Apple’s in-app purchase services, not on servers we operate for your pantry data.
We do not have access to your pantry data at any time.
If you delete the App or reset your device, this data may be permanently lost unless you restore from your own device backup or use Restore Purchases for Pro where applicable.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data.
We may use service providers strictly necessary to operate the website — for example, analytics tools such as Google Analytics if enabled, and transactional email services (such as Resend) to deliver Help responses and similar operational messages. These providers process limited data under their own policies.
4. Third-Party Services and Cookies
The App does not use third-party analytics, advertising networks, or tracking services.
The website may use third-party analytics and advertising measurement tools (such as Google Analytics and Meta Pixel) to understand traffic, measure ad performance, and improve the website experience. These tools may use cookies or similar technologies.
5. Security
App data security depends on the security of your device itself.
Help contact submissions are briefly processed on our server to forward your message securely to our inbox providers (typically over HTTPS/API to an email delivery service, followed by TLS for email transit where applicable).
6. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. The App does not collect personal data in the mobile application. If someone under 13 submits information through the website (for example, a Help form), guardians should contact us so we can remove that communication where appropriate.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted within this document.
